[2026.02] Saqr Thabet's paper titled “Toward Efficient Wireless Federated Learning via Decoupling Over-the-Air Model Aggregation and Client Selection” was accepted for publication in the IEEE Internet of Things Journal (IF: 8.9, Q1).
[2023.05] Saqr Thabet received the International Macquarie Research Excellence Scholarship Program (iMQRES) for Session 2 2023.
Saqr Thabet (Graduate Student Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree in electronics and communication engineering from the University of Aden, Aden, Yemen, in 2011, and the M.Eng. degree in electronic science and technology from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, China, in 2016. During 2016-2022, he was a Research Assistant at the lab of Advanced Visual Communications and Computing at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu.
He is currently working towards the Ph.D. degree with the School of Computing at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. His research field includes federated learning, machine learning, wireless communication, resource allocation, and video coding. In 2022, he received the Best Presentation Award twice at the 4th International Conference on Computer Communication and the Internet and at the 6th International Conference on Digital Signal Processing.
